Babalú was shot in the early hours of the morning. She died at the scene.
A trans woman was killed in the early hours of Tuesday (1st) in Currais Novos. According to preliminary information, the victim was hit by three shots. No one has been arrested so far.
According to the PM, the corporation was called around 1 am. The victim, identified as “Babalú”, was shot in the arm and twice in the chest.
The victim did not survive her injuries and died at the scene. The crime scene was cordoned off by the Military Police until the arrival of the Civil Police and the team from the Technical-Scientific Institute of Forensics (ITEP), responsible for removing the body and carrying out the forensic examination.
The circumstances of the crime are still unknown, and the police are investigating the perpetrator and motive for the murder. Witnesses will be interviewed and images from nearby security cameras may help to solve the case.
