Carmen was murdered by her boyfrend, with the assistance of a police officer who was alleged to be his lover. Her body has not yet been found.

Two suspects were arrested.

Police say Carmen de Oliveira Alves, 25, was murdered on June 12, Valentine's Day, in Ilha Solteira, São Paulo. Roberto Carlos de Oliveira, who was in a relationship with Marcus Yuri, acted as an accomplice, according to police. The pair were arrested on Thursday (10).

The police chief investigating the disappearance of 25-year-old transgender student Carmen de Oliveira Alves revealed that her boyfriend, the prime suspect in the crime, refused to acknowledge the relationship, which may have motivated the murder in Ilha Solteira, São Paulo. The investigation indicated that he committed the crime on June 12, Valentine's Day, when the victim disappeared.

Carmen's disappearance completes four weeks on Saturday (12). As reported by the report, the occurrence, which was initially treated as a disappearance of a person, is now being investigated as femicide. However, the police have not located Carmen's body.

On Thursday night (10), the police served temporary arrest warrants, for 30 days, against her boyfriend, Marcos Yuri Amorim, and the reserve environmental military police officer, Roberto Carlos de Oliveira, who worked in Ilha Solteira. Miguel Rocha told TV TEM that the investigation revealed that Carmen pressured Yuri to assume the relationship, in addition to discovering that he committed crimes, such as theft, which would also have motivated the murder.

"On Valentine's Day, he ended up killing her. In our investigation, we discovered a folder deleted on the 12th, containing a dossier Carmen had compiled against Yuri," the police chief commented. The police also concluded that Roberto Carlos, in turn, acted as Yuri's accomplice, as he also had a relationship with him. According to the police chief, the emotional and financial ties between the suspects were revealed to be part of the dynamic.

The pair were interviewed and denied the crime, according to the police chief. Roberto's defense attorney, Miguel Micas, told G1 that he will prove his innocence. The report is still trying to contact Yuri's defense.

Furthermore, tracking of the student's cell phone showed that the last place she was was her boyfriend's house in a settlement. Security camera footage also shows that she left Unesp, entered her boyfriend's residence, but did not leave. According to the delegate, the investigation revealed that the suspects killed Carmen and hid the body.

According to the mother's report to the police, the day before her disappearance, on Wednesday (11), around 11 pm, the young woman left home with a black electric bicycle. Her bicycle was not found. Family members also claim that Carmen had never disappeared before.

After the incident, family and friends helped the police in the search and held several demonstrations demanding answers in the case.
