Annu's body was found under a bridge. Two suspects have been arrested and confessed to the murder - one of them her ex-husband who had been reportedly extorting money from her.
A 25-year-old transgender person was allegedly murdered under a bridge near Telco T-point in east Delhi's Patparganj on Monday. The victim, identified as [deadname] alias Annu, had reportedly suffered a deep stab wound to the neck, and was declared dead at the scene.According to police, a PCR call was received around 1.32 pm at Pandav Nagar police station, informing that a boy had been apprehended by locals after allegedly stabbing a person. "Since the crime location fell under the jurisdiction of Madhu Vihar, the SHO and police team from Madhu Vihar police station rushed to the spot, located beneath the bridge towards Hasanpur," a senior police officer said.
"Upon arrival, the officers discovered the body of the victim lying in a pool of blood with a slit throat.
The victim—a transgender [woman]— was identified as [deadname] alias Annu, a resident of Khichripur who had been living in Chilla village," the senior officer added. Locals had caught hold of a 19-year-old boy at the scene and handed him over to the police. During initial questioning, the youth alleged that Annu's ex-husband, Rehan, a resident of Ghazipur, had planned and executed the murder. Police said the boy is being interrogated further to determine his exact role in the crime.
