Amanda passed away after being found unresponsive in a mangrove cultivating region. She was homeless, and the cause of her death is under investigatation.
The body of a trans woman was found on Monday afternoon (8), in a mangrove region in Aterro do Bacanga, in São Luís. The victim was identified as Amanda Falcão Rocha, 33 years old.
According to reports, the victim was homeless. When located, she still showed vital signs. The Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) was called and provided assistance, but later pronounced her dead.
Teams from the Military Police, Municipal Guard, Superintendence of Homicide and Personal Protection (SHPP) and the Legal Medical Institute (IML) were also called and were at the scene.
The body was taken to the IML, where it will undergo forensic examination. The SHPP will investigate the case, which should determine whether a crime was committed and identify possible perpetrators.
