Suffocated and stabbed
Kemilly was killed by her partner. He was arrested after trying to dispose of her body.
A trans woman was murdered on Friday (2) in Três Rios (RJ). According to the Civil Police, the suspect is her partner, who was arrested.
The crime occurred in the early hours of Friday, in the Santa Terezinha neighborhood. According to the Civil Police, the man attacked her with a "mata-leão" (chokehold) during an argument and then stabbed her in the neck. The victim did not survive and died.
The Civil Police also reported that he left the body at the scene for about 2 hours. Afterwards, the man picked up the body and took it to the Habitat neighborhood. Initially, he tried to throw the car and the body into a river. The vehicle ended up with its rear end sticking out of the water.
“After failing to throw the car into the river, he removed the corpse from the trunk, used an axe to try to dismember the victim to facilitate the transport of the body. He also failed. Thus, he carried the victim for a few meters into a thicket and covered the corpse with vegetation,” said Gustavo Menini, deputy delegate of Três Rios.
The man was found and arrested during the day on Friday. The victim's body was also located in a wooded area. A forensics team was at the scene to gather information that could help in the investigations. Afterwards, the body was taken to the Forensic Medical Institute (IML) of Petrópolis. The axe and knife used in the crime were seized.
