Raylla's body was found on a road. The identity of her killer(s) is not known.
The body of a transgender woman was found on Tuesday morning (January 6th) in the Estrada da Mata region, in São José de Ribamar, in Greater São Luís. The death was confirmed by a team from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU), which was called to the scene.
According to SAMU (the Brazilian emergency medical service), an Advanced Life Support Unit was at the scene, but the victim was already showing no vital signs. The victim's identity had not been released at the time of the last update.
Professionals who responded to the incident reported signs of a possible beating, raising suspicion of a violent crime. The cause of death has not yet been officially confirmed and depends on the forensic investigation. The Military Police reported that residents of the area said they did not recognize the victim as a local resident.
The case will be investigated by the Civil Police, who will determine the dynamics, authorship, and motivation of the death after the expert reports are completed.
