Flávia was shot in her grandmother's kitchen by her own cousin. She died at the scene.
The transgender woman shot dead on Monday morning, February 2nd, in Divinópolis, is Flavia Cunha, 42 years old. According to the portal Nosso Jornal.TV, Flavia is originally from Abaeté, lived in Brasília, and had been in Divinópolis for just over a month to help care for her 81-year-old grandmother.
According to the Civil Police, the crime occurred around 7:50 am on Avenida Paraná in Sidil. Flávia was hit by several shots in the kitchen of the property. Forensics found 9mm caliber casings at the scene.
The main suspect is a 34-year-old cousin of the victim, who fled on foot after the crime. He has already been identified and is being sought. According to the police, the man had a criminal record and had been released from prison in January of this year, moving into the same building. The motive is believed to be a family dispute.
The time of the burial has not yet been announced.
