Authorities are investigating the death of Paulina Blandón Villada, a trans woman known in eastern Antioquia as 'La Chapola'. The discovery of her body has shocked family, friends, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. Authorities found the body in the La Pereira ravine, in the San Sebastián sector of La Ceja , on the road leading to the municipality of Rionegro.
Following the discovery, the La Ceja Mayor's Office activated the corresponding protocols to clarify what happened. The municipal Secretary of Government, Geovanny Henao, reported that the body showed no signs of violence at the time of the inspection.
"The body showed no signs of violence," the official said, adding that authorities are conducting investigations to determine the circumstances of the incident. Authorities have not yet determined the cause of death. The National Institute of Legal Medicine will conduct forensic analyses to establish what happened.
The mayor of La Ceja, María Ilbed Santa, publicly lamented her departure and recalled that she had recently become involved as a collaborator in the restaurants of the School Feeding Program, PAE.
The news has caused sadness among residents of La Ceja and other municipalities in eastern Antioquia , where Paulina Blandón was widely known. Through social media, many people expressed their condolences and requested that the authorities clarify the case.
